Błędne Skały

Below you will find practical information: Where to park your car? How long does it take to get to the Błędne Skały? What is the shortest route? Which route to choose to get to the Błędne Skały? You will find answers to these and other questions below.

Błędne Skały is a picturesque rock labyrinth located in the Table Mountain National Park. This place is full of extraordinary rock formations that create narrow corridors, passages, and gorges. Traversing them, squeezing between the rocks, brings a lot of joy. It is an excellent attraction for families with children, offering unforgettable moments and the chance to explore mysterious corners. Błędne Skały also delights with scenic views that can be admired from designated viewpoints.

To get to Błędne Skały, we drive from Kudowa-Zdrój. Coming from this direction, we take the county road No. 387, called the Road of a Hundred Turns – the number of turns definitely explains the name! 😉 Due to a tight schedule, we decided to start our visit to Błędne Skały from 🅿️ the paid parking lot (30 PLN per day) (coordinates of the parking lot) located right near the entrance. Cars are allowed to go up and down every 20-30 minutes due to the “narrow street.” If you have a bit more time, you can find 🅿️ a free parking lot here (coordinates of the parking lot), which makes the route about 3.4 km longer one way (following the blue trail the whole way – route here). The descent will take about 2 hours. We leave the decision up to you. 😊

Błędne Skały trial

At the upper parking lot, there is a great viewpoint that is worth visiting (we marked it on the map as the starting point). From there, we head in the direction we came from by car. On the right side, we will see marked trails: red, blue, and green. Next to it, there is a free toilet, but we turn left, choosing a pleasant path, partly laid out with a boardwalk among the trees. Looking at the surrounding works, one might suspect that soon the entire trail will be covered with wooden walkways.

After about 300 meters, we reach the parking lot for buses and the trail junction. We choose the path slightly to the right, leading to Błędne Skały, and stay on the 🔴 red trail, which accompanies us throughout the route. A bit further on the right side, there is a ticket sales point (ticket prices). After purchasing the tickets, we turn right and continue our walk. Here, we encounter a few rocky steps leading up; if we turn left, we will reach a viewpoint that is worth visiting to see the beautiful landscapes.

After enjoying the views, we can return to the trail junction and head toward the main attraction. We descend a few stone steps, and here the real fun begins. Most of the trail is along a narrow wooden boardwalk – some people find it hard to maintain their balance, or they become so captivated by the scenery that they end up in the mud. With each step, the rock labyrinths become tighter; sometimes you have to squeeze sideways, take off your backpack, or crouch to get through. Along the way, we will encounter rocks of various shapes that resemble animals, figures, or objects. Some of them have even been given names, such as “Kurza Stopka” or “Wielbłąd.”

On the trail, we also came across informational boards that provide interesting facts about the history, geology, and nature of this region. Although it's a rocky "labyrinth," there’s no fear of getting lost or straying off the designated path, as the trail is well-marked and about 600 meters long.

After exiting the rock labyrinth, we turn left and walk along the path made of stone slabs among the trees, with the border with the Czech Republic on our right side.

After a few dozen meters, we reach another viewpoint, where there are benches – an ideal spot for a short rest and to admire the beautiful panorama. After a brief break, we continue along the 🔴 red trail, ascend the steps, and soon return to the place where we started our hike.

From this point, we head back, following our own tracks until we reach the parked car.

Błędne Skały from the Road of a Hundred Turns

If you chose the free parking, below you will find a description of the trail leading to the paid parking lot. We also encourage you to use our account to plan your trip even better.

Błędne Skały trail from the free parking lot:

Polana Imka - Rozdroże pod Lelkową - Skrzyżowanie szlaków

Length of the route: 2 km

Walking time: 1 hour 14 minutes
Elevation gain: 211 meters

If we had to compare Błędne Skały with the Ostaš Rock City and Prachovské Rocks and recommend what to choose, the answer would be: it depends on your preferences and expectations. The Prachovské Rocks are taller, and the trail is filled with ascents and offers more viewpoints with beautiful panoramas. It is also slightly longer, although this depends on the chosen variant (there are three options to choose from).

On the other hand, Błędne Skały stand out for their greater number of tight passages where you have to squeeze through or move in a crouched position. Ostaš Rock City represents a middle option – it has greater elevation gains than Błędne Skały but fewer mazes to navigate.

If you are here we also recommend visit Szczeliniec Wielki.
